Japanese car manufacturer, Honda is ready with its new generation C-segment sedan. It is only few days away from its launch in India, depends on the pandemic situation. Yes, we are talking about Honda City. The most successful product of Honda in India. Honda has already unveiled its new City in Thailand where its in the market from last november 2019. Similar model will come in the Indian market too with little differences. It will be the 5th generation of the City. The upcoming Honda City will be a completely different package from both outside as well as inside. From a sharper bodyline design to the fluidic one, the exterior look is totally changed and upmarket. Though it is resembling to its bigger family sedans - Honda Civic and Accord. 2020 City has received some mechanical as well as cosmetic updates and the use of top notch quality will definitely make it a better product over its predecessors. In the first look City will be easily recognized as a typical honda car due to its chunky chrome strap with honda logo on the front. Apart from the cosmetics, the length of the car has also been increased by 100mm, width by 50-53mm whereas the wheelbase remains the same 2600mm. With an increased length and width, The new City seems to be longer than its top rivals- maruti ciaz and hyundai verna. We dont know the exact figures but height of the car is also reduced inorder to give it a more sleek design. Definitely this honda city will be level up in terms of features and premium interiors compared to the current model.

The new 8 inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple carplay, Alexa Remote, Honda connect, 6 airbags, ESP, Traction control, LED headlamps and Tail lights, Reverse camera with sensors, Lane changing camera on ORVM's are some additional features that honda is going to offer in this generation. Talking about engine specifications, in the Indonesian market the new honda City is offering two engine options - 1lt Turbo Petrol and 1.5lt ivtech engine. But we are not expecting this new 1lt. Turbo Petrol engine to be launched in India. In India same 1.5 lt ivtech and idtech engines with almost same power configurations will be continued with an additional mild hybrid technology which will help in improving the fuel efficiency of the car. Although both of these engines will be BS6 compliant. The car will be sold in 3 trims- v, vx and zx. and it will be available in both CVT (automatic) as well as manual transmission.Talking about price range. The price range of the honda city has always been its downside especially in India. But somehow its premium feel, feature rich cabin and the most refined petrol engine and Honda's reliability tries to overcome this downside. The expected price of the new generation will be most probably between 10-15 lakhs ex-showroom. Despite of having overpriced range too, the City has always ruled the Indian mid size sedan segment . So, guys that's all from my side. If you like, Do comment and share. And stay tuned to g-autoblogs for more four wheeler updates and personal reviews.
