Hello guys,
Today we are going to talk on BS6 engines. In India the centre govt. has mandated that after 1st April 2020 no BS4 engine four wheeler or two wheeler or any vehicle will be sold in the country.
And gave orders to introduce the all new BS6 engines which will be more economical ,efficient and environment friendly. Though it was a good decision taken by the govt. but not for everyone. This decison put mostly all the car manufacturers in trouble. Coverting BS4 engines into BS6 was not a profitable business for every manufacturer. It was a huge issue for those manufacturers whose more than 60-70% of sale comes out of diesel engines. Because the expense of converting BS4 diesel engine into BS6 is a lot more in comparison to petrol engines. So some companies like Maruti-Suzuki, Volkswagon etc. they quit their diesel engines in indian market. Now their cars will only be available in petrol engines. Various other brands also made some changes Renault discontinued its 1.5lt. diesel engines which comes in DUSTER and LODGY, now DUSTER is only availbale in petrol engine. Nissan discontinued its TERRANO. Toyota discontinued its LIVA and PLATINUM ETIOS. Fiat also discontinued its diesel engines. Now its cars are only available in petrol engines. Various other brands also bike Mahindra, Tata , Ford and Honda updated their engines and some of these discontinued their older engines and introduced the new one. Some cars are also discontinued by these brands. So the launch of BS6 has bring a drastic change in automotive indusrty and has give us a hint that upcoming era is of petrol and electric cars.
